Spokesperson for the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan, Surya Tjandra, accused a number of presidential candidates for the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) improvement plan by a number of presidential ministers, Joko Widodo, of very political nature.

According to this former PSI politician, it should be the one who can judge whether it is feasible or not is FIFA. Instead, it is considered unethical when someone who has a business interest is asked to provide an evaluation.

What is clear is that it has business interests. So what are the results of the evaluation can be trusted? Methodically, how can grass be sampled, which is outside the match line? He said.

Surya emphasized that this was even more visible when Basuki Hadimuljono had set a grass repair budget shortly after reviewing JIS.

Previously, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir who is also the General Chair of PSSI, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono visited the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

JIS is expected to be the venue for the U-17 World Cup in November. However, it turns out that the stadium, which was left by former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, did not meet FIFA standards for the implementation of the international football event.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the government agreed to fix the shortage of JIS infrastructure. Improvements are carried out jointly by the DKI Provincial Government, the Ministry of PUPR, PT Jasa Marga, and PT KAI.

"We will try to be able to meet FIFA standards for the U-17 World Cup. All the beatings, some were carried out by the Governor of DKI, PUPR, KAI, Jasamarga," said Basuki at JIS, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Tuesday, July 4.

Basuki explained that JIS repairs would be carried out with a work target of 3 months. After the improvement of JIS access and renovation is complete, FIFA will check to check whether the international standard stadium has met the standards or not.

"If later the FIFA is examined, God willing, it will meet the requirements to be used. It's a shame if the stadium is like this, it doesn't meet the requirements. Unfortunately, it's unfortunate. For that, we are trying so that this can be included in the FIFA standard criteria," said Basuki.

In conclusion, the government found a number of problems that would be fixed in JIS infrastructure. Among them are inadequate road access, match field grass that is not in accordance with FIFA standards, and minimal vehicle parking access.
