Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir who is also the General Chair of PSSI, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono visited the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). JIS is expected to be the venue for the U-17 World Cup in November. However, it turns out that the stadium, which was left by former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, did not meet FIFA standards for the implementation of the international football event. PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the government agreed to fix the shortage of JIS infrastructure. Improvements are carried out jointly by the DKI Provincial Government, the Ministry of PUPR, PT Jasa Marga, and PT KAI. "We will try to be able to meet FIFA standards for the U-17 World Cup. All the beatings, some were carried out by the Governor of DKI, PUPR, KAI, Jasamarga," said Basuki at JIS, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Tuesday, July 4. Basuki explained that JIS repairs would be carried out with a work target of 3 months. After the improvement of JIS access and renovation is complete, FIFA will check to check whether the international standard stadium has met the standards or not. "If later the FIFA is examined, God willing, it will meet the requirements to be used. It's a shame if the stadium is like this, it doesn't meet the requirements. Unfortunately, it's unfortunate. For that, we are trying so that this can be included in the FIFA standard criteria," said Basuki. In conclusion, the government found a number of problems that would be fixed in JIS infrastructure. Among them are inadequate road access, match field grass that is not in accordance with FIFA standards, and minimal vehicle parking access. SOE Minister Erick Thohir hopes that when improvements are made, the polemic about whether it is appropriate or not like JIS, whose construction costs IDR 5 trillion as a match venue will no longer appear in the future.

"We'll check it now, don't make it a polemic again. Now nothing else is like that. Everything we do is technically. We fix it so that it can enter FIFA standards," explained Erick.
