Already In Jakarta, Panji Gumilang Will Be Examined By Bareskrim Regarding Allegations Of Blasphemy

JAKARTA - The head of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang, is said to be fulfilling the summons for examination at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, this afternoon. He will provide information about the alleged blasphemy case.

"The person concerned will be present to fulfill the invitation to call for clarification by Bareskrim," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandani to reporters, Monday, July 3.

He said Panji Gumilang might come around 14.00 WIB. Currently, he is already in Jakarta.

On the other hand, regarding the process of handling the alleged blasphemy case, Djuhandani said that several witnesses had been questioned. In fact, expert statements from the Ministry of Religion have also been pocketed.

"Investigators have collected information from experts, namely from the Ministry of Religion, from the MUI, which will later be used whether it will be used for further investigation processes," he said.

Thus, it is possible that investigators will conduct a case title after the examination of Panji Gumilang.

"We will see the results of today's examination. If it is possible, of course the investigators will not be in a state of motion, they will not be elaborate in handling investigations, investigations, if it is possible to be held immediately, we will see the results tomorrow," said Djuhandani.

For information, Bareskrim Polri has received two police reports related to alleged blasphemy by the caretaker of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School.

The two reports were filed by the Central Leadership Council of the Pancasila Defenders Advocate Forum (DPP FAPP) against Panji Gumilang, on Friday (23/6), and Ken Setiawan NICC Center, Tuesday (27/6).

In the report submitted by the FAPP DPP, Panji Gumilang was also suspected of circulating religious knowledge that deviated from Islamic teachings.

One example of Al-Zaytun's teachings that are considered deviant is greetings. Then, allow women to be preachers. Then about the Qur'an called made by the Prophet Muhammad.
