As It Turned Out, The US Navy Had Detected The Sound Of The Explosion Before The Submersible Titan

The fragments of information that have been obtained so far seem to confirm that the Submersible Titan did explode on the seabed. The reason is, the US Navy detected a "consistent with the explosion" sound shortly after the OceanGate's submarine lost contact.

The official told CBS News that their information about "acoustic anomalies" had been used by the US Coast Guard to narrow down the search area, as quoted by the BBC, Friday, June 23.

Rear Admiral Mauger of the Coast Guard confirmed that the five people on board Titan had died on suspicion of an explosion based on the pattern of debris found. However, he said no sound was detected during this search mission.

"We have sonar buoys in the water almost continuously and have not detected any catastrophic events when the sonar buoy was in the water."

Furthermore, he said, five large parts of the Submersible Titan were found among the debris around themen's website.

"Among them, the nose cone, the outer part of the pressure hull, and the larger field of debris," he said.

Rear Admiral Mauger said he could not confirm whether the US Coast Guard would be able to find the bodies of the victims or not.

Regarding the sound found underwater on Wednesday, Admiral Mauger said it appeared that he had nothing to do with Titan's submersibles.

He added that the US Coast Guard will continue to investigate the location of the debris. Meanwhile, nine ships, medical personnel, and technicians at the location will be withdrawn soon.
