Leaked Decision Of The Election System Denny Indrayana Proven Hoax, MK Decides To Be Proportional Open

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) decided that the electoral system in the plenary session remained proportional. The judicial review decision of the Election Law regarding the electoral system proves that Denny Indrayana's expression that leaking the results of the Constitutional Court's decision back into the closed electoral system is false news.

Some time ago, the former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights claimed to have received information about the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the legislative election system which will return to the party's voting.

"This morning I received important information. The Constitutional Court will decide on the legislative election to return to a closed proportional system, again choosing the party's image mark only," Denny said via a tweet on his Twitter account @dennyindranaya.

In his tweet, Denny also mentioned the source in the Constitutional Court. Although he did not answer clearly, Denny confirmed that the source was not a constitutional judge.

"Who is the source? The person I really trust is credibility, who is definitely not a Constitutional Judge," he said.

However, Denny denied that he leaked state secrets after revealing the claim of the information he got. Denny said he did not use the phrase '... get leaks' when delivering his statement. "Please listen carefully. I have carefully chosen the phrase '... get information," he said.

"Not... 'got a leak'. No verdict was leaked because we all know that there has been no decision. I wrote '... the Constitutional Court will decide'. Still, it has not been decided," continued Denny.

The alleged leak of information on the Constitutional Court's decision which Denny claimed regarding the electoral system also made the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD react. Mahfud MD asked the police and the Constitutional Court to investigate.

"Regardless of anything, the Constitutional Court's decision should not be leaked before it is read. Denny's information is a bad precedent, it can be categorized as leaking state secrets. The police must investigate A1's information which is said to be Denny's source so that it does not become speculation that contains slander," said Mahfud.

The former minister of the SBY era was also reported to the police regarding the statement of the leak of the electoral system. The police report was filed by the reporter with the initials AWW and registered with the number LP/B/128/V/2023/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated May 31, 2023.

Until finally, the lawsuit for judicial review of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections related to an open to closed proportional system was read out by Constitutional Justices today.

"The Court has the authority to try the a quo application.... The petition of the petitioners is not legally justified in its entirety,"

"Rejected the petitioner's provision petition. Rejected the petitioners' requests in its entirety," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman at the trial held Thursday, June 15.
