BOGOR - The Department of Food Security and Livestock (DKPP) of Bogor City noted that in the last three weeks there were 32 beef and dairy cows in the area that were positively exposed to the Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) disease.

The 32 cows exposed to LSD are spread across a number of farms in three sub-districts in Bogor City.

Head of the Bogor City DKPP Livestock Division, Drh Anizar, said that the incidence of cows exposed to LSD had been recorded since three weeks ago.

Even so, of the 32 cows exposed to LSD, 50 percent of them have been declared cured.

"He has entered LSD into Bogor City, 3 weeks ago, there were 32 reported cases, 50 percent have recovered," said Drh Anizar, Wednesday 14.

"The distribution is in Tanahsareal District, South Bogor District and East Bogor District," he continued.

Even so, said Drh Anizar, the public does not need to worry about this problem. Because, the LSD outbreak only attacks livestock such as cows and buffalo. Unlike PMK, which attacks warmmed animals, both cows, goats, buffalo and deer.

Not only that, the death rate of livestock exposed to the LSD virus is also only about 10 percent and 45 percent are sick.

"The death rate is 10 percent, sick 45 percent. (Only) Losses to farmers can reduce the selling price of cattle, reduce milk production," said Drh Anizar.
