Police Remind People Of Provocation Posts On Social Media During Political Year

KENDARI - The Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) warned the public not to be easily provoked in dealing with political years. Mainly facing uploads or posts on social media (medsos).

Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dir Reskrimsus) Kombes Pol Bambang Wijanarko said that posts have the potential to be troubling on social media when democratic parties are usually uploaded fake accounts. This is done like throwing stones and hiding hands.

"The public has not been provoked, in handling cases of tribal insults, we have also received special attention from the Southeast Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Teguh Pristiwanto to investigate the issue," said Bambang in Kendari, Wednesday, June 14, as reported by Antara.

He added that the public is also reminded to refrain from being easily provoked by hoax issues that are used as a tool to break unity and cause chaos in the Southeast Sulawesi region.

"Mr. Kapolda Sultra appealed to the public to fully hand over the handling of this case to the Police. In addition, be aware of those who want to take advantage of this issue to divide our unity in Southeast Sulawesi," said Bambang.

He emphasized that the perpetrators who provoked the people in Southeast Sulawesi in the political year would be prosecuted according to applicable regulations.

Bambang also asked all residents in Southeast Sulawesi to jointly maintain and create peace in Bumi Anoa in order to attract investors who can open up job opportunities so that they can make people more advanced.

"Let's protect our area together so that it remains safe and peaceful," said Bambang.
