Achmad Marzuki Considered Incompetent, DPRA Proposes Secretary Of Bustami Candidates For Acting Governor Of Aceh

The Aceh House of Representatives (DPRA) has officially proposed the Aceh Bustami Regional Secretary as the sole candidate for acting Governor of Aceh to Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, replacing current acting Achmad Marzuki who will end his term of office.

"The DPRA leadership has sent the name of the Bustami Regional Secretary to the Minister of Home Affairs to be appointed as Acting Governor of Aceh," said Gerindra faction chairman of the DPRA Abdurrahman Ahmad in Banda Aceh as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 12.

This was conveyed by Abdurrahman in a press conference with all leaders of DPRA factions regarding the proposal for the Acting Governor of Aceh at the Media Center of the DPRA, Banda Aceh.

The decision to determine Bustami as the sole candidate for Acting Governor of Aceh was based on the results of a joint agreement within the DPRA Deliberative Body (Bamus), Friday (9/6).

Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs had sent a letter dated June 5, 2023 to the Chairperson of the DPRA regarding the proposed name of the Acting Governor of Aceh.

In the letter, the Minister of Home Affairs asked the DPRA to propose three names of candidates for Acting Governor of Aceh no later than June 20, 2023.

Abdurrahman explained that the DPRA proposed Bustami because he was a native of Aceh and also very understanding of Aceh's condition as a whole.

"It's easy to communicate, both with the legislature, executive and with the district/city government, and he really understands Aceh," he said.

Meanwhile, the current Acting Governor of Aceh, Achmad Marzuki, according to Abdurrahman, has not been proposed again because based on his performance for one year has not provided the best for the people of Aceh.

Achmad Marzuki's performance is not maximal, ranging from low levels of economic growth, unemployment, sanitation, education, decent life, and various other things.

"Then also made the first noise about the President Director of Bank Aceh, regarding mining permits, and finally regarding the revision of the LKS qanun," said Abdurrahman.

The chairman of the PPP faction of DPRAIHsanunyang said the same thing based on the results of the DPRA's evaluation, the performance of the Governor of Aceh Achmad Marzuki is still far from the expectations of the Acehnese people.

This can be seen from various aspects, including the commitment of the Acting Governor of Aceh to find solutions to the decline in Aceh's revenue through special autonomy funds that have not been realized.

Then, the Aceh development scheme with the challenges that exist since the Acting Governor of Aceh was inaugurated does not have a direction in reducing poverty, stunting, human development index, and others.

"Aceh's economic growth is far below the RPJMA target, from the target of 6 percent, only 4.21 percent has been achieved," said Ihsanudin.

Furthermore, continued Ihsanudin, Acting Governor of Aceh Achmad Marzuki did not understand the management of the government and budget system so that he had not been able to supervise the performance of the apparatus.

Achmad Marzuki is also considered reluctant to attend the DPRA plenary meeting. Of the 30 plenary sessions of the DPRD, only seven times he attended.

In addition, Achmad Marzuki also finds it difficult to communicate with many parties and does not respect the values of Islamic law, the wisdom of customs, and the specificity of Aceh.

"On that basis, then we ask the President of the Republic of Indonesia to replace Achmad Marzuki as Acting Governor of Aceh," added Ihsanudin.
