The Route To The Kaligawe Toll Bridge Is Closed Until The End Of 2023 Due To The Start Of The Semarang-Demak Toll Project

JAKARTA - The police began to close and divert traffic flow above and below the Kaligawe Semarang Toll bridge, Central Java, until December 2023, following the start of a series of Semarang-Demak toll road projects.

Head of Traffic for Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Yunaldi said traffic engineering around the Kaligawe Toll bridge had been implemented after trials from 8 to 10 June 2023.

"From the trials carried out, it turns out that the flow diversion route that has been prepared has been quite effective," he said in Semarang, Monday, June 12, which was confiscated by Antara.

However, according to him, the socialization regarding the closure of the Kaligawe Toll Road bridge still needs to be massive so that people who pass can speed up the speed of vehicles when crossing the engineered route prepared

"Those who cross this engineered path are expected not to slow down so that it does not cause long queues," he said.

Another evaluation, he said, was an appeal to truck drivers from the direction of the port that would enter the toll road.

According to him, there are still many trucks from the port that still enter the toll road through the Muktiharjo toll gate.

He explained that this resulted in traffic congestion because the truck had to turn back on Jalan Raya Kaligawe in front of the Unisula Semarang Campus.

"We have conveyed to the truck drivers' associations to enter the toll road through the Krapyak door," he said.

As for the people who use motorized vehicles with smaller sizes, he appealed to choose alternative routes, both from Semarang to Demak and vice versa.

As for the traffic engineering carried out, he said, including diverting vehicles from the direction of Demak which will go to Semarang to enter the toll road to turn back to the main road.

"The motorbike from the direction of Demak going to Semarang is also directed to enter the toll road to turn around," he said.

The Semarang-Demak Toll Road has a length of 27 km which is divided into two sections.

Section I connects Kaligawe-Sayung with 10.69 km which will be built by the government with APBN financing.

While section II connects Sayung-Demak along 16.31 km which is currently complete and operational.
