Iran Launches Hypersonic Missiles: President Raisi Values ​​Presenting Security, Military Officials Equalize Russia to North Korea

JAKARTA - Iran has once again shown off its capabilities in the field of defense industry, especially missiles, by launching a hypersonic missile made by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) on Tuesday.

Named Fattah, the missile launch this time was attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the country's military top brass, praising it as the true path towards missile self-sufficiency and the defense industry.

"The launch of the new missile has enabled Iran to expand its deterrence power, will bring sustainable security and peace to the region around Iran," President Raisi said, as quoted by IRNA, June 7.

Meanwhile, IRGC Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami, who also attended the Fattah launch ceremony hailed the missile as a sign of progress for young Iranian scientists and scholars.

"Modern hypersonic missiles can easily change their path and direction inside and outside the atmosphere to avoid anti-missile rockets," he explained referring to Fattah's technological capabilities.

Earlier, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Forces Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh who was also present at the launch said at the end of May, Iran would launch a "significant generational leap" in the missile sector.

According to him, Iran's new hypersonic missile will mark the launch of a new generation of missiles in Iran.

Possessing great tactical capabilities, Fattah can fly at very high speeds and perform various maneuvers inside and outside the earth's atmosphere, he said.

"Fattah has a range of 1,400 kilometers and hits the target at speeds of Mach 13 to 15," he said.

"The missile launched today is a unique missile in the world," continued Brigadier General Hajizadeh, mentioning Russia, China, North Korea and the United States as countries that have mastered the technology for making hypersonic missiles.

He described the Fattah as having a warhead with a spherical engine, a solid fuel propulsion system and a guidance system.

He further explained, the missile has a movable nozzle that allows the missile to be directed in all directions, moving left and right, up and down, to rotate above the earth's atmosphere.

"We can hit any target within 1,400 kilometers," he praised, adding that no defense system in the world could counter the missile.

Meanwhile, state television said Iran's Fattah missiles can target "an enemy's advanced anti-missile systems and represent a major generational leap in the missile field".

"This missile can bypass the most advanced anti-ballistic missile systems belonging to the United States and the Zionist regime, including Israel's Iron Dome," state TV said in a statement, citing Reuters.

It is known that the name Fattah for Iran's first hypersonic missile, was proposed by the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a briefing session by IRGC commanders on the new achievement, according to Brigadier General Hajizadeh.
