Police Name 4 Online Prostitution Business Suspects In Palu, 3 Student Status

Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) Regional Police named four suspects in the online prostitution business case in Palu City on Sunday, May 29. "Four people have been named as suspects, namely IJM, MDR, ADP, and MA as well as charged with Article 296 of the Criminal Code with a threat of imprisonment of 1 year and 4 months and or Article 506 of the Criminal Code with a threat of three months imprisonment," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Police Kombes Pol Djoko Wienartono in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Monday, June 5, confiscated by Antara. He explained that the arrest of an online prostitution case at a hotel on Jalan Rajawali, Palu City, on Sunday 29 May, was carried out after his party received information from the public which was then immediately followed up by carrying out raids. During the raid, he continued, two women and four men were arrested along with evidence in the form of six units of smartphones of various brands, two hotel notes, and one identity card (KTP). He said that of the four people who were named as suspects, three of them were students. Meanwhile, the two women who were also arrested had their initials D (21) have their addresses at Sigi Regency and the initials RA (19) are located in Palu City.

He explained that online prostitution was carried out by means of the perpetrators first ordering two hotel rooms, namely one room for the perpetrator and the victim, while one other room to serve guests who had made online bookings (BO) or online orders. "The perpetrator used an online application to promote the victim, after an agreement was made with the customer, then the victim provided services in the hotel room that had been prepared," he added, the online prostitution practice service started at Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 1.2 million and the suspect received a share ranging from Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 400 thousand.
