"The central axis of Trans Kalimantan road that connects Palangka Raya City to Barito to the border between Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan Province is mostly not nationally standardized," said Head of the Central Kalimantan PUPR Service, Shalahuddin in Palangka Raya, Antara, Wednesday, May 31. According to him, for the southern Trans Kalimantan axis, some of it is not yet national standard. But it has been submitted to the central government through the Center for the Implementation of National Road III for the Central Kalimantan Region, so that Trans Kalimantan roads in Central Kalimantan can continue to be improved and made national standards. Apart from not yet having national standards, several points on Trans Kalimantan roads, both central and southern axes, are still flooded when the rainfall is high. The points prone to being inundated range from Kasongan to Sampit, from Jabiren, Pulang Pisau Regency to the border of South Kalimantan. Shalahuddin said landslide areas are also prone to hitting Trans Kalimantan roads. The landslide-prone areas are from Gunung Mas Regency to Murung Raya Regency to the border of East Kalimantan Province. "We have conveyed all these conditions to the central government. Thank God there was a positive response from one of the directors at the PUPR Ministry," he also said. Even so, according to the Head of Central Kalimantan PUPR, almost all Trans Kalimantan roads in this province are already in operational condition or can be passed by vehicles.
