Riau PUPR-PKPP Ensures All Toll Roads In Riau Will Connect

PEKANBARU - Head of the Riau Province Public Works for Spatial Planning and Housing (PUPR-PKPP) M Arief Setiawan ensured that all toll roads in Riau would be connected to each other.

"This interconnection is related to the determination of the location (lock) for the Pekanbaru-Regat section of the Pekanbaru-Interchange Siak Toll Road, in Kampar Regency covering an area of 234.994 hectares," Arief said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.

He said the determination of the location covering an area of 234.994 hectares of land for the toll road was in Kampar Regency, which is located in Tapung and Tambang District, connected between the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road and the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road.

Although the determination of the location mentioned is on the Pekanbaru-Rengat section, the segment that will be built is connecting the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road with the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road.

Later there will be exit toll, namely near Siak II Bridge and in the Rimbo Panjang area.

"After determining the location, then land compensation will be carried out. After the activity is completed, then toll road construction will be carried out," he said.

Meanwhile, the toll road construction financing has been prepared. The existence of the Rengat-Pekanbaru Toll Road was built to support the acceleration of economic growth in the regions.

The existence of the Rengat-Pekanbaru Toll Road also facilitates access to transportation nodes for distribution services from and to activity centers and encourages the acceleration of community economic growth, smoothing the supply of logistics traversed by toll roads to develop rapidly.

The Rengat-Pekanbaru Toll Road has a length of 175 km and will pass 41 villages or sub-districts as well as 13 sub-districts in four districts/cities, namely Indragiri Hulu Regency, Pelalawan, Kampar, and Pekanbaru City.
