JAKARTA - Head of the Pusjarah Pusjarah Division of the National Police Headquarters AKBP Ockben Saor Sinaga is the only representative of the National Police to take part in the 2023 World Police and Fire Game in Canada.

The special Olympic-style competition for law enforcement officers, police, and firefighters around the world took place on August 6, 2023.

"I am the only member of the National Police who will participate in the championship. Apart from having received approval from the National Police Chief, I have also received permission from the leadership, as well as a letter recommendation from the Indonesian Masters Athletics Association (PAMI)," said AKBP Ockben, Sunday, May 14.

Ockban, who is also the General Chair of PAMI, will participate in four sports at once, namely 100 meters of running, 200 meters of running, long jumps, and jumps.

Even though he is 55 years old, AKBP Ockben is eager to strive to achieve the best achievements in the world championship by making various training preparations.

"Every day, two practice in the morning and evening. My target is gold in the championship," he said.

Ockben's participation was not the first, in 2019 the middle-ranking police officer managed to donate bronze in the 100-meter master sprint.

"Moreover, now for 60 meters 9.61 seconds, hopefully it can still be even faster to win gold," said Ockben.

Ockben admitted that he is currently still struggling to train to catch time in every training. Currently, the time record is 14 seconds, he still has to be conquered in the 100-meter running branch.

"Hopefully, by actively practicing and maintaining a diet and health, there will be an increase. In 2 months, it can be used properly to correct mistakes," he said.

Ockben's involvement in the 2023 World Police and Fire Game was because his background was accepted into the police through the athlete path he had been coaching since he was young.

"Now that I have started this athletic competition, I also want to bring the good name of the Police in the eyes of the world through sports," said Ockben.

The owner of the ACK athletic club wants that during his tenure as a member of the National Police, the remaining 3 years can give the best achievements to the National Police Chief and his leaders who continue to support him in carrying the good name of Indonesia by donating a gold medal.

"In fact, several National Police Chiefs who previously also never stopped supporting me in participating in every competition," he said.

By participating in the World Police and Fire Game 2023, said Ockben, adding to the medals he has won in several international level championships. This is the third time, his first World Police and Fire Game championship in 2017 in Los Angeles, was only able to win seventh.

At the 2021 World Police and Fire Game in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Ockben raised his medal target. Previously, he participated in the Asian running championship in Kuching, Malaysia, December 2020.

"I will stop running until I am tired and can't run anymore. As long as I can run, I participate in various championships," said Ockben.
