JAKARTA - The opportunity to participate in the 49th Mohammad Husni Thamrin journalistic competition in 2023 is still open. The committee screened all competition material that was broadcast on various media, print, online and electronic platforms, between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023.

Currently, the material from the 2023 Mohammad Husni Thamrin Journalism Award has been collected quite a lot. The committee is optimistic that it can capture more items than before.

"There is still an opportunity to get the expected materials," said Cak Herry Sarsongko Ludiro, chairman of the 2023 MHT committee, after the PWI Jaya Daily Management meeting, Panpel and DKI Jakarta Diskominfotik ranks, Monday, May 8.

The MH Thamrin Journalism Award is held every year, as a form of cooperation between PWI Jaya and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Diskominfotik.

The 49th MHT Awards in 2023 will overhaul seven categories. Namely, text categories, photo categories, terrestrial video TV categories, video TV streaming categories, radio categories, infographic categories, and title categories. The seven categories contested are similar to last year.

"Of all the contested materials, the most are still text categories, almost 300 reports. For articles or titles, there are relatively few," explained Cak Herry SL.

It was agreed that there were three big themes in this competition, namely Jakarta Success for Indonesia, Jakarta for the archipelago, and Jakarta to become a Global City.

"As in the 2022 MHT, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Communication, Information and Statistics Office provides prize money of Rp. 15 million for each category," said PWI Jaya Chairman Sayid Iskandarsyah.

That does not include a prize for two nominations in each category, which is Rp. 2.5 million each. Thus, the total prize money in the 2023 MHT amounted to Rp140 million.

According to the plan, the peak event for the 49th Mohammad Husni Thamrin Journalism Award in 2023 will still be held at the Great Hall, DKI Jakarta City Hall, in mid-August 2023.
