Saudi Arabian Foreigner Car Blocks Ambulance In Bogor Examined By Police

Bogor City Police, processed the driver of a black Avanza with police number F 1355 FAG, who is a foreign national (WNA) with the initials HTM, blocking the speed of an ambulance carrying patients on Jalan Semeru Pasar Merdeka to the Bogor City Hospital.

"From the results of the interrogation or examination of the driver of this black Avanza car, this is a foreign national from Saudi Arabia. Now of course, the element of violation from the driver of the Avanza car fulfills the elements of Law number 22 of 2009 article 287 paragraph 4 of the traffic law in terms of road users," said Bogor Police Chief Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso Friday, May 5.

Kombes Pol Bismo explained that HTM fulfills the elements of violating the traffic law because it does not provide the main rights for motorized vehicles that use sound and beam for ambulances with the threat of one month imprisonment or a fine of Rp. 250 thousand.

According to the Police Chief, HTM finally violated traffic by blocking the ambulance even though he admitted that he had no intention of it. At that time HTM was confused because the car he was driving was grabbed by a motorbike that had not yet been realized as an ambulance escort.

He then intended to chase the motorbike, because on the left side of the road it was also full of parked vehicles, so he could not stop his vehicle immediately at that time.

Seeing that the HTM car did not stop or block the ambulance, said Kombes Pol Bismo, the driver or passenger of the ambulance was emotional, so there was an argument with HTM and then continued his journey.

The police chief said that the incident that went viral on social media through the video footage made the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit immediately look for HTM for questioning.

"Well, from the interrogation carried out by the investigator to the driver, it was found that the first driver felt confused, why was there a motorbike escort in front or side of the driver, there was an ambulance behind him. The condition at that time the ambulance was carrying the patient. So the condition of the driver or passenger of the ambulance was emotional, then the Avanza driver was confused, because on the left there were a lot of parking vehicles, so it was not possible for the Avanza car driver to pull over," he explained.

Bogor City Police Traffic Unit Kompol Galih Apria added that HTM has been summoned and will be held to further account. HTM asked for permission to complete its fast within a few days first.

Kompol Galih said HTM admitted that he did not intend to block the ambulance, but as a foreigner he may be of different culture so that when a vehicle grabbed his vehicle, his reaction to ask questions became a misunderstanding between the two parties.

"We have called the person, the person is there, we already know the location, there is. But he is fasting for a few days, after that he will return here," he said.
