NasDem Plans To Register For Candidates To KPU May 5, PPP On May 8

JAKARTA - Member of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Idham Holik said the NasDem Party and PPP had officially confirmed that they would register the prospective legislative candidates on Friday 5 May and Monday 8 May, respectively.

"This is just informal (information), yes; on May 5, the NasDem Party (registered) in the afternoon and on May 8, PPP registered its prospective DPR members," said Idham at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 2, confiscated by Antara.

Because the information is still informal, continued Idham, the KPU is waiting for an official notification letter from the leaders of the two parties.

Idham again appealed to all political parties participating in the 2024 General Election at the national level to send an official notification letter one day before registering candidates for DPR members to the KPU so that the KPU can provide the best service.

In addition, he added, the notification letter is also a form of certainty for the KPU that the head or representative of the political party concerned will come to the KPU RI Office to submit a list of candidates for members of the DPR RI.

"That way, then we can inform fellow journalists and convey to the Indonesian public that today, at this hour, there will be political parties participating in the general election who will come to the KPU to submit a list or register as candidates for the DPR RI," he explained.

The KPU has announced that the registration of prospective DPR members will be carried out simultaneously with the registration of prospective provincial DPRD candidates, district and city DPRDs, as well as the registration of candidates for DPD members for the 2024 General Election on May 1-14, 2023.

The registration can be done by the leadership of a political party or representing on Monday-Saturday at 08.00-16.00 WIB and Sunday, May 14 at 08.00-23.59 WIB. The public can also monitor the registration online through the KPU YouTube channel.
