Teddy Minahasa Trial, Confession Of Former Bukittinggi Police Chief Called Damage To Legal Process

JAKARTA - forensic psychology expert Reza Indragiri assessed that the confession of the former Bukittinggi Police Chief, Dody Prawiranegara in the case of the distribution of methamphetamine involving Teddy Minahasa could damage the legal process.

Reza highlighted Dody's confession that Teddy ordered to set aside methamphetamine and exchange it with tawas.

"That is DP's confession and recognition is the most potential object to damage the legal process," Reza said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 20.

Reza assessed that there was a fact that had not been revealed in the trial, namely the disappearance of five kilograms of methamphetamine (kg) when Dody reported it to Teddy.

In his press release, Reza explained, initially the Bukittinggi Police had revealed 44.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from several locations where the arrests were taken.

The arrest was then reported to Teddy Minahasa, who at that time served as the West Sumatra Police Chief. However, Dody reported the methamphetamine to Teddy was only 39.5 kg.

"This means that there is a difference with the actual weight of methamphetamine which was secured weighing five kilograms of methamphetamine which was reported," said Reza.

Teddy and the ranks of the West Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office also destroyed 35 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The remaining 4.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office to be used as evidence.

Reza considered this fact to be highlighted because there was an alleged reduction in methamphetamine evidence which was actually carried out by the defendant Dody.

After a while later, Dody and the other defendants were arrested by the Polda Metro Jaya because of possession of 3.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

Reza again questioned where the 3.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine came from. "Well, the crucial question is that 3.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine that was secured from a 2 kilogram DP, Linda one kilogram and another 300 grams in Jakarta came from? Whose? How did they get it?" said Reza.

Reza hopes that the series of facts can be considered by the judge to decide the verdict to all defendants.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya stated that Teddy Minahasa had ordered his subordinates to set aside evidence of methamphetamine from the results of the disclosure of the case to be circulated.

It all started when the Bukittinggi Police destroyed 40 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine as caught. At that time, Teddy Minahasa allegedly ordered Doddy as the Head of the Bukit Tinggi Police to exchange five kilograms of crystal methamphetamine for tawas.

Then Teddy Minahasa ordered Doddy to bring the methamphetamine to Jakarta to be sold to a witness named Anita alias Linda.

After the methamphetamine arrived in Jakarta, Linda was tasked with randomly selling the illicit goods through the former Kalibaru Police Chief, Kasranto. Linda also received some money from the sale of the methamphetamine.

The embezzlement of drug evidence was finally uncovered by a series of disclosures of narcotics cases by the Central Jakarta Metro Police and Polda Metro Jaya.
