Open Doors For PDIP To Join Big Coalition, Golkar: As Long As It Matches The Struggle Foundation

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party opens the door for the PDI-P (PDIP) if they want to strengthen the big coalition. If PDIP feels suitable in collaboration with five initiating political parties, the banyan party welcomes it with open arms.

"We always say that the grand coalition initiated by Pak Airlangga Hartarto is a big house whose doors are always open to anyone who wants to enter. As long as it matches the foundation of the struggle, please join," Golkar Party Spokesperson Tantowi Yahya told reporters, Monday, April 17. So far, political parties that are members of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) and the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) have started exploring communication related to the formation of a major coalition. For example, PAN and Golkar have met with Gerindra. Tantowi ensures that there are no barriers in Golkar, PAN, PPP, Gerindra and PKB communications, "The fact is that the 5 political parties in this grand coalition do not have a barrier to any party," continued Tantowi.

Even so, added Tantowi, Golkar still has not received any information on whether PDIP will join a major coalition or not. PDIP only signaled that it would communicate with other political parties after Eid.

"It doesn't look like there is yet (PDIP joins a major coalition, ed)," he said.

Previously, PDIP secretary general Hasto Kristiyanto said the discourse of a major coalition would lead to discussions on presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"In the end, what is being done will talk about who is the presidential candidate who is the vice presidential candidate," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP Party School, South Jakarta, Saturday, April 15.

He positively welcomed the political communication that was built by a major coalition. However, Hasto believes that the consolidation between these parties will occur after PDIP announces a presidential candidate.

"In the context of political communication, the idea of major cooperation is very good, it is positive, but the consolidation of the cooperation will occur after the presidential candidate is announced from PDIP," said Hasto.
