JAKARTA - Vice President Ma’ruf Amin together with three ministers discussed various aspirations about the development of Papua, one of which was the construction of a Christian Center or Christian study center in Papua. The three ministers are Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Makarim. "This afternoon, the Vice President received three ministers, namely the Minister of PUPR, the minister of religion, and the minister of education and culture. His agenda specifically discusses aspirations regarding development in Papua," said Vice President Ma'ruf spokesman Masduki Baidlowi in a statement delivered in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, April 17. Masduki explained that the development of Papua discussed at the meeting was related to the aspirations of church leaders who wanted Christian Center development or Christian study centers. "If there are Muslim areas with Islamic Centers, now there is a Christian Center. Now, the Vice President ordered the PUPR minister to carry out, immediately carry out planning, and immediately build it as soon as possible," he explained. According to him, the location for the construction of the Christian study center is in two places and a thorough planning study is immediately carried out so that the construction of a Christian study center can be realized immediately. In addition to discussing the Christian Center development plan, Masduki continued, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and the ministers also discussed aspirations related to the plan to build dormitories and educational institutions in Atambua.

"Everything is discussed again, in detail, in depth, and it is hoped that the 2023 period will be partially implemented and some can be completed in 2024," said Masduki Baidlowi.
