JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed that there was no increase in the price of economy class bus tickets during the 2023 Eid homecoming from terminals in the capital.

"Economy tickets do not have an increase in fares. Operators can apply upper limit tickets which are currently still below, they play at an average of 50 percent," said Syafrin, quoted by Antara, Sunday, April 9.

Syafrin explained, there will indeed be an increase in the price of economy tickets for executive buses but if they exceed that, the route permit can be revoked based on the regulations of the Directorate General of Land Transportation (Ditjen Hubdat) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

"For non-economy, a market mechanism applies, but we also urge bus operators who serve non-economy buses not to increase fares at will, but still pay attention to the needs of the people who will be going home using bus transportation this year," he said.

His party also anticipates ticket brokers who are usually present at terminals during the Idul Fitri homecoming.

"Of course, we, together with the police, will continue to make efforts so that there are no brokers at the terminal," he said.

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has anticipated brokers. One of them is by holding electronic tickets, such as at the Pulo Gebang Terminal.

Everything can be done with electronic tickets, either using the Jakarta Electronic Ticketing Bus or other online ticketing media.

"We hope that we will automatically reduce and minimize ticket brokers," he said.
