Firli Bahuri Will Return, Police Decide Endar Priantoro To Remain Director Of KPK Investigation

The National Police has decided that Brigadier General Endar Priantoro will remain as Director of Investigation of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Letter numbered B/2471/III/KEP./2023 has been sent to the KPK leadership since last Wednesday, March 29.

In a letter obtained from a VOI source, Endar was decided to remain in his position due to limited positions in the Bhayangkara Corps and career development at the KPK.

"From the results of the session of the Police's Career Advisory Council, Brigadier General Endar Prianto continues to carry out his assignment as Director of Investigation of the KPK and his assignment has been determined as ordered by the Chief of State Police of the Republic of Indonesia," the letter said, Friday, March 31.

As for Inspector General Karyoto, he is now being promoted from the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK to the Kapolda Metro Jaya. "Please the leadership is pleased to re-convey the Pati Polri in question," the letter continued.

The letter was signed by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and copied directly to the Deputy Chief of Police to the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the KPK.

Some time ago, Karyoto and Endar were in the spotlight after it was reported that they would be returned to the National Police for promotion. This issue arose in the middle of the investigation into the alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E in DKI Jakarta.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said the proposal was sent by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri since November 2022. The claim is that the return proposal is not related to the case being handled by the anti-corruption commission but is indeed time for them.

"(The Director of Investigation of the KPK Endar Priantoro has worked, ed) 2.5 years and the Deputy (Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto) has worked for 2 years and 9 months for almost 3 years. So it is proposed to be promoted," Ali told reporters, Thursday, February 16.
