Deputy Minister Of Health Dante Calls The Health Bill Proposing Permits For Doctors No Longer Complicated, Long And Large Funds

Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono said that the Draft Health Law (RUU) contained proposals to make it easier for doctors to obtain practice permits. "The requirements for applying for the current doctor's practice are too long and require large funds, making it difficult for a doctor's permission for practice," said Dante Saksono Harbuwono in the socialization of the Health Bill which was followed online in Jakarta, Antara, March 19. The same situation also occurs for the creation and extension of a doctor's Registration Certificate (STR). Deputy Minister of Health Dante said the first step taken to cut licensing was to return the duties and functions of regulations to the government. "The government will make regulations for permission to practice doctors and no longer professional organizations," he said. In addition, the Ministry of Health has also prepared a digital licensing scheme. Through this mechanism, the licensing process for the practice of doctors is encouraged to be faster, more transparent and comprehensive. “ Licensing management is carried out with the help of digitization, so later you can immediately find out how many points. This point will be a requirement to extend the practice license and doctor registration certificate,” he said. Dante hopes that the presence of the Health Bill, which is an initiative of the DPR and has been included in the 2023 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas), can be a solution to this problem. Separately, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB-IDI) Adib Khumaidi said the essence of providing STR/SIP recommendations is to maintain health quality through the competence of doctors who have been recognized by their organizations. "Here, it's not just IDI, we are with related organizations. When there are doctors with practices, it is not recommended and fake doctors occur, it is those who know that they are in the association," he said. Adib agreed, if problems arise in the administrative process, it can be fixed together, one way to do this is by creating a central system. "We are very open to improving internally the management," he said. Adib said, the importance of recommendations for doctors is in order to maintain quality and provide doctor services according to their competencies. "What we are worried about is that the community will be harmed. I can't imagine if fake doctors appear. If managing the organization there must be participation, the government needs professional organization support. And we exist to support participation," he said.
