A Woman Motorcyclist Found Dead Hit By Transjakarta Bus When Changing Lanes

JAKARTA - A woman motorcyclist with the initials DPS (21) was found dead after being hit by a Transjakarta bus on Letjen Suprapto Street, Cempaka Putih District, Central Jakarta. The victim suffered injuries to her leg and broken bones.

"The victim riding a Honda Beat motorbike died at the scene. The victim is registered as a resident of Babakan Village, Sukawangi, Bekasi Regency," said the Head of the Central Jakarta Traffic Accident Unit, AKP Sutiyono to VOI, Monday, March 13.

The victim died after being hit by a Transjakarta bus driven by the perpetrator with the initials SR (43), a resident of Kembangan, West Jakarta.

The accident started when the motorcycle driven by a woman with the initials DPS was traveling from east to west on Letjen Suprapto Street, Cempaka Putih.

"Arriving near St. Paskalis Church, it is suspected that the vehicle driven by the victim was not careful when changing lanes to the right to enter the Transjakarta bus lane," he said.

Suddenly, from behind, a Transjakarta bus driven by SR hit the victim's motorbike. The victim's motorbike was hit by the front left body of a Transjakarta bus.

"Traffic accidents have occurred. The victim's motorbike was struck, it swerved and then fell," he said.

Currently, the Central Jakarta Regional Traffic Unit is conducting crime scene investigations and sketching pictures at the crime scene. While the victim's body was evacuated to the RSCM for further processing.
