Prabowo Excels From Ganjar As Ideal Presidential Candidate At Central Sulawesi-West Kalimantan People's Conference

JAKARTA - The results of the People's Conference (Musra) for the provinces of Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) and West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan) resulted in the name Prabowo Subianto winning over Ganjar Pranowo as the ideal presidential candidate.

"Brave and firm are the criteria and character desired by participants in Central Sulawesi. Apart from that, being authoritative, honest and clean is also the hope of the participants," said the chairman of the Barus Musra Panel Committee in a written statement, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 8.

He explained the Musra in Central Sulawesi, Sunday (5/3) with 1,916 participants participating in the voting. General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, is the top presidential candidate most wanted by the public.

Prabowo led with 27.71 percent, followed by Ganjar Pranowo with 23.59 percent and then Airlangga Hartarto with 12.95 percent, and Moeldoko with 11.01 percent.

While Musra in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Prabowo also looks the most superior. The Musra was held on the same date, voting was attended by 1,361 participants.

Prabowo received 23.07 percent, Ganjar Pranowo 20.21 percent, Airlangga Hartarto 17.12 percent, and Mahfud MD 16.24 percent.

Based on the schedule set by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU), the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start on October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As stipulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (Election Law), the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs are proposed by political parties or a coalition of political parties participating in the election that meet the requirements of obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous parliamentary elections.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs in the 2024 presidential election must have the support of at least 115 seats in the DPR. Candidate pairs can also be nominated by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a minimum total of 34,992,703 valid votes.
