NTB Governor Ensures 300 People Are Ready To Manage Land In Gili Trawangan

MATARAM - West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Zulkieflimansyah confirmed that there are 300 residents who are interested in working with the government to manage 65 hectares of land owned by the provincial government in the tourist area of ​​Gili Trawangan.

"There are already 300 people who are okay to work with us. There are 11 people who are still having problems and only these 11 are noisy," said Zulkieflimansyah, in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 28.

According to the Governor, in resolving the issue of land cooperation in Gili Trawangan, a lot of patience is required, because it involves a sensitive matter.

Because some entrepreneurs in Gili previously worked with foreigners, now their partners have worked with them because the real land owner is the local government.

"Westerners have legal advisers, they don't want to cooperate with those who don't own land. Their logic is that it's not their land, why do I have to pay it to him? Why not go directly to the local government who owns it," he said.

The NTB Provincial Government will try to find a compromise so that they continue to cooperate with these foreign entrepreneurs in Gili Trawangan with the concept of mutual benefit.

"Yes, we have to be patient, especially since we can't be careless. Right now there is the Corruption Eradication Commission and the Attorney General's Office giving directions. This may work together, this may not be, that's how it is," he said.

The Governor emphasized that the NTB Provincial Government has no interest whatsoever. Moreover, business interests or making money from land that was previously managed by PT Gili Trawangan Indah (GTI).

However, this was done in order to really secure the mandate entrusted to the NTB Provincial Government or regional leaders by the state, so that his party took action.

"Those who want to work together according to the rules will be processed immediately. Thank God, most of them don't have this problem. If there are local people who have overdone working with foreigners and they agree with the form of the company and the collaboration, yes, please. We will follow up in collaboration with the local government. This is also no problem," he said.

Even though there are problems, he is still optimistic that the completion of a private cooperation plan with the NTB (Provincial Government) can be completed.

Previously hundreds of residents of Gili Trawangan, Pemenang District, North Lombok visited the NTB Governor's Office.

They demanded that NTB or the Governor of NTB issue a Property Rights Certificate (SHM) for 65 hectares of land in this NTB mainstay tourist area.
