MEDAN - The Medan City Transportation Service (Dishub), North Sumatra, is targeting local revenue (PAD) for the roadside parking levy sector of IDR 30 billion this year.

"Our target is around IDR 30 billion or an increase of 50 percent from the previous year," said the Head of Parking Division for the Medan City Transportation Agency, Nikmal Fauzi Lubis, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 22.

It was recorded that the PAD of the roadside parking levy sector in the capital city of North Sumatra Province in 2022 reached IDR 19.5 billion from the target of IDR 21 billion.

The amount of PAD from the roadside parking sector in the capital city of North Sumatra Province has increased by around 39 percent compared to 2021 of more than IDR 14 billion.

Meanwhile, the roadside parking fee sector in Medan City has increased by around 39 percent compared to 2021 of IDR 14 billion.

"Of our IDR 30 billion target, IDR 10 billion is obtained from conventional parking, and IDR 20 billion is the implementation of e-parking (electronic parking)," he said.

His party continues to develop the e-parking system which is currently still being implemented on 65 roads and as many as 15 companies are entitled to collect e-parking fees in the city of Medan.

Meanwhile, for conventional roadside parking fees, we are still looking at the potentials of existing roads in Medan City for plans to increase parking.

"The biggest PAD is parking, it's still downtown. Because those who park there are due to the movement of people, both shopping, shops, schools and banking," he said.

He also appealed to the people in Medan City not to pay for parking, if they find a parking attendant asking for parking fees in cash at the e-parking location.

"For e-parking, until now there has been no addition. We are still improving the existing e-parking, because its implementation is not perfect in the field," said Nikmal.
