JAKARTA - The first wave of the Indonesian Government's humanitarian mission for handling post-earthquake in Turkey, arrived at Adana Airport, Turkey on Sunday.

The Indonesian Embassy in Ankara said in a statement that the two planes carrying the first batch of aid arrived at different times and were immediately greeted by the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Lalu Muhamad Iqbal and related elements.

The first landing was at 10.05 a.m. local time, with a Boeing 737-400 aircraft carrying 47 Medium Urban SAR BASARNAS (MUSAR Inasar) personnel and light equipment.

Meanwhile, the second landing was at 17.00 p.m. local time with Hercules C-130 carrying heavy equipment and humanitarian aid from the Ministry of Defence.

"After unloading passengers and cargo, the first plane immediately flew back to Indonesia. While the second plane, after loading and unloading, immediately flew to Ankara to rest and change the crew," explained the Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara Colonel (Kav) M. Amir Ali Akbar who was assigned to coordinating the landing of all waves of flights, in a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Ankasa, Monday, February 13.

Upon arrival at Sakirpasa Adana Airport, which is the debarkation center for all humanitarian aid arriving by plane, the team immediately received an initial briefing by the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, and BNPB Mission Coordinator Bambang Surya Putra.

Colonel Kav Amir further explained, the Turkish Disaster Management Agency (AFAD) provided full support so that the entire landing, licensing, immigration, and customs process ran smoothly.

Immediately after the landing of the first aircraft, all INASAR personnel immediately headed to the operational area determined by AFAD, namely in Antakya, Hatay Province.

And upon arrival in Antakya, the INASAR team immediately coordinated with the UN Office for Humanity in Antakya.

If there are no obstacles, the first wave of Indonesia's humanitarian mission to deal with the earthquake in Turkey will be followed by the second wave on February 14 and the third wave on February 19.
