Police In Sukoharjo Until They Intervened Prevent Stunting's HANDs

SukoHARJO - Sukoharjo Police dispatched Bhayangkara officers for the Community Security and Order Development (Bhabinkamtibmas) to provide assistance to posyandu activities held in their respective regions.

Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan said his party had dispatched Bhabinkamtibmas to provide assistance to the Posyandu activity in order to provide education and socialization about stunting prevention.

The Police Chief conveyed that the socialization and education activities were held as a follow-up to the instructions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, that the National Police was assigned to help local governments make efforts to prevent stunting.

"In this assistance, the Bhabinkamtibmas gave an appeal to the public to live a healthy life to avoid stunting," said the Police Chief, quoted by ANTRA, Friday, February 10.

In addition, Bhabinkamtibmas also gave a message that Posyandu activities should be carried out routinely, considering that the integrated service posts at the RT to village levels are very important in an effort to anticipate stunting.

"We hope that with the various efforts made, the stunting rate, especially in Sukoharjo Regency, can decrease," he said.

At the Posyandu activity which was held in the Polokarto area, for example, the District Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimcam) and the Head of the local Police, jumped directly to provide socialization and education and distributed 100 packages of side dishes and vegetables to Posyandu participants.

He explained that stunting cases are a condition of growth disorders and developmental disorders in children due to chronic malnutrition so that children are shorter than their age.

Therefore, the role of Bhabinkamtibmas is to educate and socialize the consumption of nutritious food in the family, and be aware of the importance of living a healthy life, and prevent early marriage.

"The number of stunting cases in Sukoharjo Regency until 2022 is recorded at around 8.1 percent or around 3,000 toddlers," he said.
