Mapping Provinces With Potential Forest And Land Fires, Jokowi: Riau, North Sumatra And Kalimantan Be Careful

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has mapped a number of provinces in Indonesia that have a high potential for forest and land fires (karhutla).

The head of state warned the provinces of Riau, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), and Kalimantan to anticipate this potential considering the dry season is expected to start at the end of February.

"Earlier I gave a warning to the provinces of Riau, North Sumatra, Kalimantan to be careful because later at the end of February or March the heat will rise," Jokowi said in a meeting of the TNI-Polri leaders for the 2023 budget year at a hotel in the Jakarta area. Center, Wednesday 8 February.

Meanwhile, President Jokowi arrived at the location of the 2023 TNI-Polri Rapim on Wednesday 8 February morning. Wearing black and brown batik, the head of state was accompanied by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Jokowi was present at the TNI-Polri Rapim to provide debriefing and direction. The Rapim will discuss various matters related to the main tasks and functions related to the two security agencies, one of which is regarding securing the 2024 Election.

In addition to securing elections, it also discussed Polri's support for the 2023 national strategic agenda.
