Hasya Athallah Should Have Participated In Taekwondo Championship For Chief Of Police Cup, But He Was Killed By A Retired Policeman Car

TANGERANG - The case of fatal accident that happened to a student at the University of Indonesia (UI), M Hasya Attalah Syaputra (18) on October 6, 2022, still leaves memories for the family of the deceased.

This is because the deceased, who was active in the sport of Taekwondo, will take part in tournaments in a number of matches all the way to Vietnam.

Dwi Syaviera (50), Hasya Athallah's mother, shed tears when remembering a number of achievements that Hasya should have had, had he been alive.

A week after the accident, Hasya was supposed to take part in the Taekwondo competition for the Kapolri Cup in Jakarta.

Then November 3, 2022, Hasya was supposed to take part in the Regional Championship (Kejurwil) representing Banyuasin Regency in South Sumatra. Next is the National Championship (Kejurnas) at the end of 2022 in Tangerang.

"Then participating in Vietnam and Singapore were given scholarships from FISIP UI. (Last) February 5-6 representing the Banyuasin Pra-Pron," Dwi told reporters at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Tuesday, February 7.

Chronology of Accident 

Hasya's accident involving retired policeman AKBP Eko Setio occurred on Thursday, October 6, around 21.30 WIB, on Srengseng Sawah Street, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. When the weather occurs in rainy conditions and slippery roads.

Metro Jaya Police's Traffic Directorate Kombes Latif Usman explained that the incident started when the victim Hasya drove from the south to the north.

Based on the testimony of the witness, who is a friend of the victim, explained that a vehicle suddenly turned. When the incident occurred, the victim Hasya immediately avoided by stopping his vehicle suddenly. As a result, the victim skidded to the right and entered a road without barriers.

"So his friend himself explained that at that time suddenly a vehicle in front of him (the victim) wanted to turn right so the victim braked suddenly," said Latif.

At the same time, from the opposite direction, came a Pajero driven by Eko who was said to be traveling at a speed of 30 km/hour. He couldn't avoid an accident that resulted in Hasya being hit.

"Well, Mr. Eko at this time could not avoid it because it was close. So it did not collide with the Pajero vehicle, but fell to the right and was received by Pajero, so an accident occurred," he concluded.
