JAKARTA - National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the National Police are establishing cooperation with the police of ASEAN countries. The aim is to facilitate the process of catching fugitives who have fled abroad.

"We at the National Police are currently also working with several countries in ASEAN to make it easier to find the perpetrators using the police-to-police scheme", said General Sigit quoted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel, Tuesday, February 7.

In the process, the National Police, represented by the Division of International Relations, is working with several countries.

It is hoped that in the future the cooperative relationship will be well established. So, it can help institutions and other law enforcement agencies in catching fugitives.

"Currently we are travelling to several ASEAN countries and this can be used to help arrest perpetrators or fugitives who are currently outside Indonesia", he said.

"To help cooperate with all existing law enforcement officials, with all DPOs that can be given", continued Sigit.

President Jokowi previously emphasized that law enforcers would work optimally to hunt down the fugitives who were being chased. This assertion was conveyed by Jokowi when asked by reporters about the fugitives from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Harun Masiku and Ricky Ham Pagawak.

"That's very technical, let the Corruption Eradication Commission answer, that they haven't met for a year but have only met for 6 months, right? But some haven't found it, if the goods are there, they will definitely be found", said Jokowi.

Meanwhile, KPK chairman Firli Bahuri said it was quite difficult for his party to track down the four people who were on the wanted list (DPO).

The fugitives include Kirana Kotama alias Thay Ming, who has been on the run since June 15 2017. He is a suspect in giving bribes to PT PAL.

Then, Harun Masiku who is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. He is a fugitive and has been on the wanted list since January 17.

There is also Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin who has been on the run since October 19, 2021. He is a suspect in alleged corruption in the procurement of electronic identity card (e-KTP) packages at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Then, Ricky Ham Pagawak who is the Regent of Central Mamberamo. He is a fugitive after being named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratuities in the procurement of projects and goods and services.

Ricky has been a fugitive since July 15 and he has also been named a suspect in the crime of money laundering (TPPU).
