Asks To Manage And Face The Second Era Of NU's Second Era, PBNU Executive To Nahdliyin: You Must Have Double Hearts And Brains

JAKARTA - Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Rais Aam KH Miftachul Akhyar or Kiai Miftah invited all Nahdliyin residents to be mentally and intellectually prepared to enter the second century of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

"We must have a double heart and brain, like a car that has two axles that are ready to move all of its members, its elements, and to get the energy to enter this second century," he said while delivering remarks at the Peak of the 1st Century NU Reception at the Gelora Stadium. Delta Sidoarjo, East Java, Tuesday 7 February, as reported by Antara.

According to him, entering the second century of NU, Nahdliyin needs to organize a stronger mentality and not be easily carried away by outsiders, a principle that must be firmly instilled within Nahdliyin.

"This is the provision that Nahdliyin members must have to navigate the second century of NU," he said.

The caretaker of the Miftachus Sunnah Surabaya Islamic Boarding School emphasized that it was the aspirations of the NU clerics and NU founders or muassis based on the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

"Don't be Imma'ah; you say: if people are good, we are also good, and if they are unjust we are also unjust. However, prepare yourselves (to accept truth and goodness). If people are good, you must be good; and if they are corrupt, you must not be unjust." (HR. Tirmidhi).

This hadith, according to Kiai Miftah, as he is affectionately known, must be considered by NU members so that NU in the second century can progress and become a more solid organization.

"Brothers, of course, I believe that the NU muassis are present among us, witnessing our ability to welcome this second century. To better become a systemic organization, an organization that is munadzdzam, an organization with one command," he said.

At the end of his speech, Kiai Miftah thanked all the NU 1st Century Reception Peak congregation. He hopes that NU in the second century will be able to take more action for society.

"Thank you all, especially the community organizations, Islamic organizations that we cannot mention one by one. Thank you all. Hopefully, we are in the 1st Century of NU and today's zero point we set out to welcome the second century, hopefully, given maunah, excellent health," he hoped.

Present on this occasion the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia K.H. Ma'ruf Amin, and Chairman of PBNU K.H. Yahya Cholil Staquf with the PBNU management. There were tens of thousands of NU cadres filling the stadium stands and more than one million Nahdliyin around the stadium.
