CENTRAL LOMBOK - A car accident on the Lombok-Mandalika Airport Bypass Road, Tanak Awu Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Tuesday (31/1) night, resulted in the death of two passengers. Three other people were injured.

"Two passengers died and three passengers were also seriously injured. The victims have been taken to the hospital," said Bedul, a resident of Tanak Awu Village, who was at the crime scene (TKP), as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 1.

The accident occurred when the Innova car was traveling from east to west on Tuesday (31/1) night around 21.00 WIB. When he arrived at the crime scene, it was suspected that the driver of the car could not control the vehicle so it crashed into the bypass road divider.

"Suspects are temporarily out of control," he said.

He said the identity of the victims was not yet known, but one victim was a resident of Mujur Village and the other victim was a resident of Jontlak Village.

"That is the victim's data according to the identity found at the crime scene. Three other victims had no id card found," added Bedul.

A number of residents who saw the accident immediately provided assistance and reported it to the police. Not long after, officers from the Central Lombok Police descended to identify the cause of the accident.

"The vehicles used were also badly damaged," said another resident.

Head of the Central Lombok Police Traffic Unit AKP I Putu Caka said members had processed the single accident scene for further investigation.

"Temporary information is that two people died and three people were injured and we have taken them to the Praya Hospital," he said.
