Finally Gibran Leaks Kaesang's Political Intentions: Wants To Be Executive

JAKARTA - Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, gave his blessing to Kaesang Pangarep, who wants to enter the political arena. He leaked that his younger brother wanted to try his luck running as an executive in the 2024 election.

"Executive. I have leaked it," said Gibran, as quoted from the Surakarta News YouTube account, Thursday, January 26.

Gibran did not explain further at which executive level Kesang was interested in embedding his will in the political map of Indonesia.

However, Gibran said that he also found out about this with his father, President Joko Widodo, while having a meal together in Surakarta recently.

Gibran said he wanted the best for Kaesang. He also prayed that his sister's wish would come true.

Regarding the assessment of Kaesang's desire, he fully surrendered to the community.

"But then again, I gave Kaesang an assignment, and it went well. Exactly. That's Kaesang's portfolio," he said.

Previously, a number of parties opened the door for Kaesang to join. From PAN, Gerindra, PDI Perjungan (PDIP) to PPP.

PDIP, as the party that his father, President Jokowi, is patronizing, also left a message to Kaesang. PDIP hopes that Kaesang will be able to face the challenge by proving his intention to go into politics is not because he got a 'red carpet' from his family.

"His challenge is to show the public that he is not involved in politics because of a red carpet from his father or brother. But the public sees his great credibility and potential in giving a positive color to the world of politics," said PDIP DPP chairman Said Abdullah in a statement, Wednesday, January 25.

"So that the people accept him not because he is the president's son or the mayor's younger brother, but because of his excellent track record and potential," Said explained.
