7 NGO Members Extorting The Case Of Sexual Abuse In Brebes Arrested

SEMARANG - The police arrested seven members of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) suspected of extortion in a case of molesting a 15-year-old child in Brebes Regency, Central Java (Central Java).

Meanwhile, in the case of molestation of a 15-year-old child, there were six perpetrators.

"Seven members of the NGO have been arrested who are suspected of provoking and violating the law," said Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi in Semarang, Friday, January 20, reported by Antara.

The seven perpetrators of extortion each with the initials ES (36) who are the Chairperson of the Barisan Patriot Concern Indonesia (BPPI) NGO, along with six members each WS (40), AS (42), BJ (35), T (43), AM (42), and UZ (38).

The members of the NGO are alleged to have received IDR 62 million from the parents of the six perpetrators of sexual abuse of a 15-year-old boy in Sengon Village, Brebes Regency.

The parents of the perpetrators of the theft gave various amounts of money with promises that the criminal case would not be reported to the police.

According to the perpetrators, the money will be handed over to the family of the victim.

However, it turned out that only IDR 32 million was handed over to the victim's family, while the rest could not be accounted for by the perpetrators.

For their actions, the seven perpetrators were charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code on extortion or Article 369 of the Criminal Code on fraud, or Article 372 of the Criminal Code on embezzlement.

In the case of sexual abuse, the six perpetrators with the initials AF (14), FH (16), DAP (17), AM (15), AI (19), AM (15) are all residents of Sengon Village, Tanjung District, Brebes Regency.

For their actions, the suspects will be charged under Law Number 23 of 2022 concerning child protection.

The alleged rape of WD, a resident of Sengon Village, Tanjung District, Brebes Regency, occurred around December 2022.
