JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party DPP opened its voice over the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) search of the office of DKI Jakarta DPRD member M. Taufik. The search was related to a case of alleged corruption in land acquisition in Pulogebang, East Jakarta.

Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Gerindra Party Habiburokhman, emphasized that M Taufik was no longer a Gerindra cadre. Gerindra is in the process of replacing the seat currently occupied by Taufik in the DKI DPRD.

"M Taufik is no longer a Gerindra cadre because he has resigned and been dismissed. Currently we are in the process of processing the PAW concerned," Habiburokhman told reporters, Wednesday, January 18.

The member of Commission III of the DPR admits that he supports the efforts made by the KPK in investigating corruption cases, including the land acquisition corruption case in Pulogebang.

According to him, the corruption case is really very alarming. Because actually, the land in Pulogebang is intended for the construction of houses with a zero percent down payment.

"For people with a weak economy who really need housing. This is the second case after the Corruption Eradication Commission uncovered the Munjul land case, which is also located in East Jakarta," said Habiburokhman.

The East Jakarta constituency legislator revealed that the problem of inadequate housing is still one of the biggest complaints for East Jakarta residents to date.

He said, there are still many areas that can be said to be slums in almost every district in the area. Because of that, he hopes the KPK can thoroughly investigate this land corruption case.

"We hope that the KPK will be able to work on this case thoroughly. Anyone involved, whether executive, legislative or private officials, must be held accountable," said Habiburokhman.

It is known that KPK investigators searched the DKI Jakarta DPRD office in relation to the alleged land acquisition corruption case in Pulo Gebang, East Jakarta, Tuesday, January 17. One of the things searched by the KPK was the office of a member of the DKI DPRD from the Gerindra faction, M Taufik.

When leaving the DPRD building, the KPK investigation team carried a number of suitcases which were loaded into 6 to 7 cars.

Meanwhile, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) is currently investigating the bribery case for land acquisition in Pulo Gebang, which involved DKI Jakarta BUMD. There are a number of witnesses who have been examined by the KPK, one of which is M Taufik.

The KPK is targeting suspects in this case. However, until now the KPK has not disclosed who the suspects are in the bribery case.
