Refusing Ferdy Sambo's Order To Shoot Brigadier J, Ricky Rizal Asks Prosecutors To Acquit

JAKARTA - Defendant Ricky Rizal alias Bripka RR hopes that the public prosecutor (JPU) will demand his release in the case of the alleged premeditated murder of Yosua alias Brigadier J. The reason is that Ricky was not involved in the murder of Brigadier J because he refused Ferdy Sambo's order to shoot.

"Ricky Rizal and the team of legal advisers hope that the Public Prosecutor will demand that Ricky Rizal go free from punishment," said Ricky Rizal's legal adviser, Erman Umar when contacted, Monday, January 16.

Based on the Case Tracing Information System (SIPP) of the South Jakarta District Court (PN), a hearing to read out the charges for defendant Ricky Rizal will be held today.

Erman said that his client was not fully involved in the series of murders of Brigadier J. This is because Ricky Rizal did not know about the alleged planning.

Referring to the indictment, the planning to kill Brigadier J was carried out by Ferdy Sambo at the Saguling house, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on July 8. At that time, he asked Richard Eliezer alias Bharada E to shoot Brigadier J.

"Ricky Rizal did not know that Yosua would be shot at the Duren Tiga official residence. Ricky went to Duren Tiga because Princess Chandrawati asked him to take her by car for isolation after PCR in Saguling," said Erman.

Apart from that, at the moment of the execution, Ricky also did not expect Bharada E to have the courage to shoot Brigadier J. At that time, he thought that Ferdy Sambo was only going to clarify the events in Magelang.

"Ricky, because he was the last to enter, only heard Ferdy Sambo say to Joshua, 'squat, squat!' While Joshua replied, 'what's going on, what's going on', while Richard Eliezer was ready with a gun, he immediately shot three to four times. This incident made Ricky Rizal shaken because he did not expect this incident, how many times Ricky was speechless and could not speak," said Erman.

Based on the indictment, Ricky was charged with jointly participating in and/or assisting in the premeditated murder of Yosua alias Brigadier J.

It is said that Ricky Rizal did not prevent and notify the police regarding the murder of Brigadier J which occurred at Ferdy Sambo's official residence at the National Police Complex, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on July 8.

Ricky Rizal was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code subsidiary 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to (1) and carries a maximum penalty of death penalty, life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years.
