10,249 Families Not Eligible for Social Assistance, Some with the status of Company Directors

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs issued 10,249 beneficiary families (KPM) that were not on target for the distribution of social assistance (Bansos) from the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

Social Minister Tri Rismaharini in Jakarta said the data came from the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) via the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU) system.

"It is recorded that the recipients of the social assistance are directors or officials at the company. Even if you check the people are poor, some are cleaning service workers, some are workers. They are listed as management or officials at the company, but in reality, they are poor", said Minister of Social Affairs Risma, Friday, January 13, quoted from Antara.

Following up on the findings of the BPK RI, the Ministry of Social Affairs has frozen the said data and removed it from the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

The data freezing is a follow-up to BPK's findings after an examination of the distribution of basic food assistance/BPNT by matching KPM data on them by name-by-address data on the distribution of basic food assistance/BPNT with data on the AHU system of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Minister of Social Affairs Risma said that her party had discussed the matter with the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly. So that later there will be data checking before the company registers with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"I said yesterday, our decision, we must give shock therapy. We will cut, and they will say 'my people are poor. Please complain to us later, and we will evaluate it", said Social Minister Risma.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that his party had discussed this problem with law enforcement officials and universities regarding this solution.

"So that everyone learns how to be accountable for what we do. We will cut it", she said.
