Madang Students In Gili Air Drowned, His Body Was Found By SAR NTB Today

The SAR team found the body of Aldin Nauval Firas Qani (22), a student from a university in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), who drowned in Gili Air waters, North Lombok Regency, Tuesday, January 10.

"The victim was found on Wednesday morning, at 06.20 WITA in the southeast of the last victim, or about 0.13 nautical miles from the location of the first incident," said Acting Head of the Mataram SAR Office Muhdar, in Mataram, NTB, Wednesday, January 11, confiscated by Antara.

He said the victim was a resident of Montong Betok Village, Montong Gading District, East Lombok.

The victim was evacuated to Bangsal Port, Pemen District, North Lombok Regency, and then taken to the funeral home using an ambulance from the Nipah Health Center.

"The victim was evacuated to the mainland by the SAR Team with local residents, then taken by his family to the funeral home," he said.

Previously, the Bangsal SAR alert post, the Mataram SAR Office received a report of people drowning on Tuesday, January 10 at 21.02 WITA from Sahli, an employee of the Kupang National Water Conservation Area (BKKPN) Kupang, Gili Matra (Gili Meno, Air and Trawangan).

According to information obtained by the Mataram SAR Office, the incident began when a number of students who were carrying out a Real Work Lecture (KKN) activity or internships in Gili Air, swimming around 17.00 WITA.

30 minutes later, the victim was separated from his partner. Before drowning, the victim was seen waving.

The Mataram SAR Office, which received the report, immediately deployed personnel from the Bangsal SAR Alert Post to carry out joint search efforts with other potential SARs. The search was carried out around the waters of Gili Air and the coast.

The elements involved were the Bangsal SAR Alert Post, TNI, Polri, Barasiaga, Kupang BKKPN, Share Love, Basarnas Potential, Supervisory Community Group, and local residents.
