COVID-19 Update as of November 17: New Cases 7,822, Active Cases 60,471

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 79,838 specimens were examined with the result that there were 7,822 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,590,113 and active cases have increased by 2,520 to 60,471 cases", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Thursday, November 17.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 5,264 people, bringing the total to 6,370,351 recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 38 cases and a total of 159,291 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 3,474 cases and a total of 1,486,137 cases. Followed by West Java with 1,348 new cases with a total of 1,204,345 cases. East Java with 755 new cases and a total of 624,559 cases. Banten with 723 new cases and a total of 351,368 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,589 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 731 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 589 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 552 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 111,582,012.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 15.78 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 6,867 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 205,281,764 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 172,147,016 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 65,844,458 people and the fourth dose was 709,383 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
