MATARAM - The Drug Investigation Unit Team of the Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) arrested a man who owned two marijuana plants in the Narmada area, West Lombok Regency. One of the cannabis plants is even 20 centimeters high.

The head of the Mataram Police Narcotics Unit, Commissioner I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, explained that his party arrested the owner of the cannabis plant with the initials JU (34) at his home in Montong Hamlet, Selat Village, Narmada District.

"We arrested the perpetrators of JU last night at around 7:30 pm. We found evidence in the form of two marijuana plants in the yard of the perpetrator's house", said Yogi in Mataram, quoted from Antara, Friday, October 28.

From the arrest of JU, Yogi continued, and his party carried out developments to the second location which was at the house of the perpetrator AK (24) in Sambik Baru Hamlet, Sesaot Village, Narmada District.

To the police, JU admitted that the perpetrator AK was the one who gave the marijuana plant when it was still 5 centimeters tall. "From JU's confession, the team immediately moved to the second location and arrested AK at his home", he said.

After successfully making arrests at the second location, the perpetrator AK told the police the role of a man who was the origin of his growing marijuana.

"So, this third perpetrator has the initials IS. He is called the perpetrator AK as the provider of marijuana seeds", he said.

After hearing AK's confession, Yogi and his team on Thursday night continued their movement to the third location at IS's house in Sesaot Lauk Hamlet, Sesaot Village, Narmada District.

"We arrested the IS perpetrator that night while he was at his house", said Yogi.

To the police, the IS perpetrator has admitted that he got the marijuana seeds from Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"According to IS's confession, these cannabis seeds were a gift from Makassar. He got three seeds. When he showed it to his colleague, AK was interested in planting it", he said.

Furthermore, Yogi said that the results of the preliminary examination of the three perpetrators revealed that JU had plucked marijuana leaves that he planted in his yard.

"About 2 months ago, he (JU) admitted that he had picked the leaves and he consumed them by drying them first and smoking them", he said.

Regarding the distribution of the crops, Yogi said that investigators have not found any evidence related to that direction.

Now the police are still conducting further investigations, both in laboratory tests of these types of plants and urine tests on the three perpetrators.

"So, from the arrest of the three perpetrators with evidence of these two marijuana plants, we cannot conclude. Because all of them are still in the process of being investigated", said Yogi.

In handling this case, he also assured that his party has 6 days to determine the status of the three perpetrators.

"Clearly, the direction of handling this case is still related to the Narcotics Law", he said.
