High School Students Dragged by Floods in Jembrana Bali Found Dead

JEMBRANA - The joint SAR team finally found a high school student who had fallen from a bridge and drifted into the Filtering River, Mendoyo District, Jembrana Regency, Bali.

The body of Ni Putu Widia Margareta (18) was found at around 2:05 p.m. WITA on the coast of Delod Berawah Beach, Jembrana, Bali. The location where the victim's body was found is about 5 km from where the victim slipped.

"There are residents who found it while looking for wood on the beach", said the coordinator of the Jembrana SAR Post, Bali, Dewa Putu Gede Hendri G, Tuesday, October 18.

The condition of victim when found was still wearing full clothes. "Furthermore, the body was taken to the Jembrana District Hospital using an ambulance", he said.

Previously, Jembrana Police Chief AKBP I Dewa Gde Juliana confirmed that a high school student had disappeared in the current.

The student was dragged by the current while crossing an alternative bridge to the north of the Biluh Poh bridge in Mendoyo District, Jembarana Regency, which is the main access for traffic.

"(He crossed) another alternative bridge, which is to the north on the main route", said AKBP Juliana, when contacted Monday, October 17.

The victim, a 3rd-grade high school student in Filtering Village, was swept away by the flood on Sunday, October 16. At that time, the victim was leaving for Pasar Lelateng in Negara District with her father but slipped into a river where the water was overflowing.
