Heru Budi Becomes Acting Governor Of DKI For A Year, Minister Of Home Affairs Tito: It Can Be Continued Depending On The Evaluation

JAKARTA - Heru Budi Hartono was officially inaugurated as the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian. Tito said Heru's position was valid for the next one year.

Then, the Ministry of Home Affairs will evaluate Heru during his leadership in Jakarta every three months. After one year, Tito revealed that Heru's position could be extended or replaced by another echelon I official.

"The term of office is 1 year, but we will evaluate it every 3 months. After 1 year it can be continued by the same person or different people, depending on the results of the evaluation," said Tito at the Ministry of Home Affairs office, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 17.

Tito explained that Heru's appointment was decided by the results of the Final Assessment Team (TPA) led by President Joko Widodo. Before Heru was chosen, there were three names proposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

"Especially for DKI Jakarta, there were 3 names proposed by the DPRD, which were in the TPA session led by the President and a number of ministers and institutional leaders who then decided to choose Mr. Heru as the acting," said Tito.

Furthermore, the former National Police Chief asked Heru to carry out his duties to lead Jakarta as well as possible. Given, Jakarta has a variety of problems that are quite complex.

"I beg Mr. Heru, this is a mandate from Allah S.W.T., then trust from the leadership of the state, from the government. I hope that I can carry out my duties as well as possible, both the regular ones that I convey routinely, Jakarta's problems are complex," he explained.

For information, Heru's inauguration as the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta is contained in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia number 100/P of 2022 concerning the ratification of the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 term of office and the appointment of the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Heru is not new to the government in Jakarta. He started his career in 1993 by becoming a Civil Servant (PNS) with a special staff position for the Mayor of North Jakarta.

Heru Budi has also held a number of important positions. For example, in 2014, Jokowi, who was then governor of DKI Jakarta, appointed him as the mayor of North Jakarta. After that, he was appointed as Head of DKI BPKAD in 2015.
