Heru Budi Hartono Is Officially Inaugurated As Acting Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian officially inaugurated Heru Budi Hartono as Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta as of today.

The inauguration was held in the Sasana Bhakti Praja Room, Building C, 3rd floor, Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Medan Merdeka Utara Street, Central Jakarta.

The inauguration ceremony began with singing the anthem Indonesia Raya, then continued with the reading of the President's decree regarding the honorable dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, the Regent and Deputy Regent of Yapen, and the Regent and Deputy Regent of Tolikara.

Heru's inauguration as the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta is contained in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia number 100/P of 2022 concerning the ratification of the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 term of office and the appointment of the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

The presidential decree authorized the honorable discharge of Anies Baswedan and Ahmad Riza Patria from the positions of Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta effective October 16, 2022.

Then, appointed Heru Budi Haryono as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta starting from the time of his inauguration for a maximum term of one year.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill my obligations as the acting Governor of DKI Jakarta in the best and fairest way possible, uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and carry out all laws and regulations in a straight line and serve the community, homeland, and nation," said Heru who was guided by Tito, Monday, October 17.

In addition to Heru, Cyfrianus Y. Mambay as Acting Regent of Yapen Islands, and Marthen Kogoya as Acting Regent of Tolikara also read out a similar oath. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Anies Baswedan and Ahmad Riza Patria.

As is known, President Jokowi has appointed Heru Budi Hartono as the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. This was decided by Jokowi in a meeting of the Final Assessment Team (TPA) which was chaired directly by Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace, some time ago.

Before being elected, there were three names of candidates for the Acting Governor of DKI that were proposed by the DKI Jakarta DPRD. In addition to Heru, the names of the candidates for Acting Governor that were previously proposed were the Regional Secretary of the DKI Jakarta Province, Marullah Matali, and the Director General of Polpum at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bahtiar.

Heru is not new to the government in Jakarta. He started his career in 1993 by becoming a Civil Servant (PNS) with a special staff position for the Mayor of North Jakarta.

Heru Budi has also held a number of important positions. For example, in 2014, Jokowi, who was then governor of DKI Jakarta, appointed him as the mayor of North Jakarta. After that, he was appointed as Head of DKI BPKAD in 2015.
