BMKG Predicts Rain In Jakarta This Afternoon

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that a number of points in DKI Jakarta will experience rain followed by lightning and strong winds on Thursday, October 6 afternoon.

Heavy rain is likely to occur in Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta from the afternoon or into the evening.

Meanwhile, BMKG also conveyed the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds to also occur in other parts of Indonesia.

The potential for rain, apart from DKI Jakarta, is likely to occur in the provinces of Aceh, Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Jambi, Lampung, Riau, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, Banten, West Java, East Java, and Bali.

Parts of the provinces of West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and West Papua also face the potential for heavy rains. accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

According to the BMKG, the increase in the potential for rain cloud growth around the cyclonic circulation area and the convergence area or wind meeting area increases the chance of rain in Indonesia.

The BMKG stated that cyclonic circulation was monitored around North Kalimantan and the Makassar Strait, which among others formed a convergence area that extends from South Kalimantan to Central Kalimantan and from Central Sulawesi to West Sulawesi.

In addition, the convergence area was observed extending from Aceh to North Sumatra, from the West Waters of West Sumatra to West Sumatra, from the Java Sea to Bangka Belitung, from Central Java to West Java, from the Sulawesi Sea to North Kalimantan, and Papua to West Papua.
