COVID-19 Update as of October 4th: 1,851 New Cases, Accumulated 6,437,750 Cases

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 71,691 specimens were examined with the results of 1,851 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,437,750 people and active cases have increased by 300 to 16,594 cases", said Task Force data, Tuesday, October 4.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,538 cases, bringing the total to 6,262,820 people recovered. Then, there were 13 positive confirmed deaths and a total of 158,156 people.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 668 cases and a total of 1,428,121 cases. Followed by West Java with 321 new cases with a total of 1,181,058 cases. East Java has 204 new cases and a total of 605,981 cases. Then, Banten with 157 new cases and a total of 337,793 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 404 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 322 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 220 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 169 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 108,944,731.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 5.93 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,467 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,631,545 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,247,271. people underwent a second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 63,787,218 and the fourth dose was 626,864. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
