JAKARTA - A man with the initials HT (42) did not move when he was caught smuggling methamphetamine, ecstasy, and happy five drugs in his underwear. HT, who came to Malaysia, was arrested after passing an X-Ray scan at Soekarno Hatta Airport.

West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Head, AKBP Akmal, explained that the perpetrator was an Indonesian citizen who was on vacation in Malaysia and returned to Indonesia with three types of drugs purchased from Malaysia.

Akmal said that HT's arrest was the result of police cooperation with Airport Customs and Excise.

"There were three drugs that were successfully secured from the perpetrator's underwear. They were two packages of methamphetamine weighing 6.25 grams, 15.5 Ecstasy pills, and 10 Happy Five pills", he said.

AKBP Akmal explained that the reason the perpetrators brought drugs from Malaysia to Indonesia was only for their own consumption. Because the price of drugs in Malaysia is very cheap.

"The reason is that they want to consume themselves because in Malaysia the price of drugs is very cheap, methamphetamine in Malaysia, according to the perpetrators, costs Rp. 200 thousand", he said.

So far, the perpetrators and the evidence have been secured at the West Jakarta Police Headquarters. The perpetrators of the initials HT are charged with Articles 112 and 114 of the Criminal Code regarding narcotics abuse, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
