Ridwan Kamil Discusses West Java Conditions to National Politics When Meeting Agung Laksono

JAKARTA - Chairman of the 1957 West Java PDK Kosgoro, Aria Girinaya, said the meeting of the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil with the Chairman of the Golkar Expert Council, Agung Laksono, was limited to a friendship. During the casual meeting, political issues, including those on the national level, were also discussed.

Aria revealed, Ridwan Kamil received a lot of advice from Agung Laksono. He did not deny that the meeting also discussed many things related to various West Java and national issues.

"Ridwan Kamil explained about development in West Java, achievements, problems, and solutions. Socio-political issues that are currently happening in West Java and nationally. And Mr. Agung Laksono advised Ridwan Kamil to continue working for the people of West Java", said Aria.

"The casual conversation also discussed whether to continue with the Governor of West Java for two terms or the Governor of DKI Jakarta or even nationally", he added.

Aria admitted that Agung Laksono did mention when and where Ridwan Kamil would join a political party. However, he said, the man who is familiarly called Emil did not clearly answer the question.

"He said he was the most realistic person in politics, the widest open was to be governor for two terms in West Java. But many were pushing to clean up DKI, when it comes to RI 1 or 2, it is the domain of the party chairmen", he explained.

According to Aria, Ridwan Kamil's chances of competing in the three election contests are very open. Although still waiting for a political decision, said Aria, the discussion regarding Ridwan Kamil's running for the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election became an interesting conversation for meeting participants.

"The survey results in West Java, Ridwan Kamil's electability is 70 percent, in DKI it is number 1. If there is no Mr. Anies. Nationally, Ridwan Kamil is consistently number 3 or 4 in several survey results", said Aria.

Although he talked a lot about politics, Aria said that the meeting had nothing to do with the issue of Ridwan Kamil joining a political party.

Previously, Golkar Party DPP chairman, Dave Laksono, confirmed a meeting between Ridwan Kamil and several West Java Golkar leaders. However, Dave was reluctant to reveal when and where the meeting took place.

Dave only said that the meeting was held in the context of friendship between the people of West Java.
