Army Chief of Staff Welcomes French Army's Desire to Train Together

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), General Dudung Abdurachman, welcomed the French Army's desire to establish military cooperation with the Indonesian Army in the form of joint training.

The desire to train together was conveyed by the French Army Chief of Staff General Pierre Schille when receiving Dudung's honorary visit at the French Army Headquarters in France, Thursday, September 22.

General Dudung said that the Indonesian Army would provide an official answer to the French Army's desire to train together.

In addition to joint training, Pierre conveyed the French Army's desire to exchange Field Artillery Soldiers (Armed) in 2023.

This was welcomed by Dudung. In fact, Army Chief of Staff General Dudung added that another potential military cooperation that the two countries' armies could carry out was the exchange of cadets between Indonesia and France.

The Army Chief of Staff said that currently, two Indonesian Army soldiers are studying in France.

First, soldiers who are currently studying at the Army Staff and Command School (Seskoad). Second, soldiers who are currently pursuing an officer-level education (Diklapa).

In the future, General Dudung hopes that the Military Academy cadets can also study in France in the context of student exchange.

At the end of the meeting, Dudung expressed his gratitude for the kind welcome from Pierre during the Indonesian Army entourage visiting France.

He invited Pierre to visit Indonesia to get to know the TNI AD more closely, as well as a form of a return visit for the honorary visit by the Army Chief of Staff.
